Step-by-Step Guide to Tailoring Amazon Q

Step 1: Create an application with a specified name on AWS. Choose or create an AWS IAM service role for Amazon Q to assume, for example, a sample. Click “Create.”


Step 2: Choose a retriever to pull real-time data from the index. Options include the Amazon Q native retriever or an existing Amazon Kendra retriever. Opt for the native retriever and click “Next.”


Step 3: Connect data sources by selecting built-in connectors for popular sources. In this demo, choose Amazon S3 and configure the data source by specifying the Amazon S3 bucket containing PDFs of blog posts.


Step 4: Check your application and Add your custom DataSource as you needed.


Step 5: Add your plugins to execute tasks requested by users, such as generating support tickets or evaluating sales forecasts.
