Plan Your Career in Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure has been one of the market leaders offering Cloud services under IaaS and PaaS Cloud segments. There are multiple Azure services available for different business solutions. As per the current job market, there are numerous positions in demand for Microsoft Azure.

We at CloudThat recently conducted a webinar on “Plan Your Career in Microsoft Azure”. During this webinar, I had explained the concepts of Cloud and new positions available in the cloud domain including Cloud market trends and available job opportunities. I had also discussed the Cloud skills required in the industry like System Administrator, Developer, DevOps, and Architects. Based on the job role I had explained all the certification tracks and specializations available in Azure.

During the webinar I had received multiple questions from attendees on career planning based on their current job role and which certifications or specializations they should focus on. Below are some of the questions and my answers from the webinar:

Q.1. I am a server admin and which certification should I opt for?

Ans: According to me, you can upgrade your knowledge and work around managing and monitoring different services in Azure. So, below is the certification track for Server Admins:

MCSA: Cloud Platform – Specialization in Azure. Below are certifications you can opt for:

The first certification i.e. 70-533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions is for system admin and infrastructure roles.

Q2. How will your training program followed by certification help us to shift our career in the cloud domain and move away from traditional jobs?

Ans: It is always challenging to identify the right path to get into the new technology space and move away from the traditional way of working. According to me, the first step is to get the right training, work on real-time projects to implement the learnings, and get certified on respective technologies to get better opportunities in the industry. So, you can identify your interest, and based on your current working profile select the right certification track and get trained for it. For e.g. Azure offers Cloud Specialization tracks with MCSA and MCSE. For detailed information, please check out my webinar and recorded video – Simplifying Azure Certifications.
