How to Create a VM with vSphere 8?

Objective

This lab will guide you through the process of creation of a Virtual Machine.

Prerequisites

  1. VMware vSphere 8 (ESXi hosts and vCenter Server) installed and configured.
  2. Networking and storage configured in your vSphere environment.
  3. A supported guest operating system ISO file.

Step by Step Guide for Creating a Virtual Machine

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client and navigate to the inventory.
  2. Select a target ESXi host or a cluster where you want to create the VM.
  3. Right-click the selected host or cluster, and then click “Create New Virtual Machine.
  4. In the “New Virtual Machine” wizard, select “Create a new virtual machine” and click “Next.”
  5. Enter a name for the VM and select the target data center or folder. And Click “Next” for select compute storage.
  6. Select a target datastore to store the VM files and click “Next.
  7. Select the compatibility level for the VM and click “Next.”
  8. Choose the guest operating system family and version. Click “Next.”
  9. Customize the VM hardware settings, such as CPU, memory, and disk size, as needed. Click “Next.
  10. Review the summary of your settings and click “Finish” to create the VM.
