Introduction to AWS Wavelength

The 5G edge networks of communications service providers (CSPs) are equipped with computation and storage resources deployed by Wavelength. A Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) can be expanded to a Wavelength Zone or Zones. The applications that require a connection to AWS and the exceptionally low latency services available in the Region can then be deployed using AWS resources like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

- Network Border Group – A unique collection of Local Zones, Wavelength Zones, or Availability Zones from which AWS promotes IP addresses.
- Wavelength application – This software allows you to run in a Wavelength Zone on an AWS resource.

AWS Wavelength provides mobile edge computing infrastructure for building and scaling ultra-low-latency applications by integrating AWS compute and storage services into 5G networks.
