Their network lacked scalability and cost-effectiveness for secure communication across AWS accounts and VPCs. Adopting microservices was challenging due to fragmentation and scalability issues. The absence of a secure network and a CI/CD pipeline led to slow deployments and inconsistent application delivery.
• Multiple VPCs are provisioned with distinct CIDR ranges to prevent IP overlap and allow seamless routing between environments.
• Each subnet is assigned its own route table, allowing for customized routing rules based on whether the subnet is public, private, or used for specific services.
• Leveraged AWS security features such as VPC Security Groups, NACLs, AWS IAM roles, and AWS Transit Gateway routing to ensure the integrity of the infrastructure and limit unauthorized access.
