The client operated a single EC2 instance running both the application server and a self-hosted MySQL database, creating a tightly coupled setup that severely affected performance and scalability. Their influencer-analysis application required continuous Instagram data scraping, ingestion, AI-based processing, and re-storage, but shared compute resources led to frequent contention and slow processing cycles. The self-hosted database lacked high availability, backups, encryption, and monitoring, increasing operational risks. Additionally, the absence of a dedicated Amazon VPC, subnets, and security controls limited security and governance.
• Designed secure multi-AZ VPC with dedicated public and private subnets for layer isolation.
• Migrated monolithic Amazon EC2 to structured environment with separate application servers and Amazon RDS MySQL.
• Implemented elastic scaling and optimized instance sizing for accelerated data processing and AI analysis.
• Enabled secure connectivity using Security Groups, NACLs, and AWS IAM policies with encrypted data flows.
• Configured automated backups, monitoring, and alerting through Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, and Amazon RDS snapshots.
• Established S3-based storage for influencer content to reduce application load and optimize AI workflows.
• Deployed infrastructure using Terraform for consistency, rapid provisioning, and future scalability.
