• Conducted compatibility assessment and benchmark testing between Redis and Valkey.
• Established a Valkey cluster from an ElastiCache Redis snapshot, maintaining data integrity while reducing migration complexity.
• Designed a migration plan with zero downtime using replication and DNS switch-over.
• Updated application connection configurations and performed thorough load testing before cutover.
• Enabled continuous observability and monitoring by integrating Valkey metrics with Amazon CloudWatch for alerting and performance tracking.
Achieved 20% cache latency improvement (3.5ms to 2.8ms), 30% cost reduction, and zero-downtime migration.
