The client operated a large, complex production estate in NTT data centers with dependency on on-premises hardware, limited cloud agility, and increased outage risk. The environment included diverse storage needs (ONTAP, OpenZFS, Windows FS), 258 servers across C1-C4 clusters, multiple services (RabbitMQ, Kafka, time-series and metadata databases), making operations, backups, and scaling difficult. Additionally, requirements for secure hybrid connectivity, encryption, AD integration, centralized monitoring, and compliance made migration, availability, and efficient management challenging.
• Designed multi-AZ architecture with segregated subnets for high availability.
• Implemented Transit Gateway and Direct Connect for secure, low-latency connectivity.
• Migrated workloads to optimized Amazon EC2 instances with load balancers for scalable distribution.
• Adopted FSx storage and high-IOPS EBS volumes for diverse performance requirements.
• Configured automated AWS Backup with encrypted vaults for reliable data protection.
• Strengthened security with AWS IAM, AWS KMS encryption, AWS Config, Amazon GuardDuty, and centralized logging.
• Enabled unified monitoring with Amazon CloudWatch, Logs Insights, and Grafana dashboards.
• Automated operations using AWS Systems Manager to reduce manual effort and errors.
Achieved multi-AZ high availability, boosted performance with FSx and optimized EC2, strengthened security controls, delivered automated backup with 5,000+ recovery points at 100% success rate, and enhanced operational efficiency.
