AWS translation solution automates multilingual educational content delivery
Magic Bus, a non-profit organization empowering youth through education and skills, has positively impacted over 1 million lives across India. Their challenge was translating educational content from English into native languages, such as Telugu and Hindi. They needed an AWS-based, scalable solution to improve comprehension and engagement, with expected outcomes of enhanced accessibility, cost efficiency, and streamlined multilingual content delivery.
Reduction in manual translation
Enhanced translation accuracy
Strengthened data security
The organization faced a significant challenge in making its educational content accessible to a diverse population across India. The existing documents were available only in English, which limited engagement and comprehension for many beneficiaries who primarily communicate in their native languages, such as Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
• Amazon S3 was utilized as the primary storage layer for video files and associated data.
• An Amazon EC2 instance was deployed to handle the transcription process. Using OpenAI’s Whisper model, the instance retrieves media files from the Amazon S3 bucket.
• Amazon Bedrock was integrated to enable serverless access to advanced foundation models. For this use case, Anthropic’s Haiku model was utilized to translate the transcribed text into native languages, such as Telugu and Hindi.
Automated AWS translation pipeline reduced manual efforts by 80%, improved accuracy by 90%, and strengthened security through AWS IAM controls.
