Kasplo’s legacy IPv4 infrastructure lacked the scalability, flexibility, and performance needed for global expansion. The company required a secure, cloud-native migration to AWS to modernize operations, enhance security, and reduce operational overhead
• Identified Kasplo’s owned IPv4 block registered with a Regional Internet Registry (RIR) and confirmed eligibility for AWS BYOIP (minimum /24 block).
• Created and published a Route Origin Authorization (ROA) via the RIR portal to authorize AWS ASN to advertise the IP range.
• Verified IP ownership through WHOIS records and ensured no conflicting advertisements existed.
• Provisioned the IPv4 CIDR block in AWS and monitored its status from pending to provisioned.
• Advertised the IP range using AWS CLI and confirmed successful propagation across BGP and RPKI systems.
• Allocated Elastic IPs from the BYOIP pool and associated them with EC2 instances to maintain IP reputation and minimize DNS changes.
• Followed security best practices for IAM roles, network ACLs, and secrets management, ensuring compliance and secure access.
• Performed dry-run tests to validate IP reachability and minimize downtime during production cutover.
• Documented the entire BYOIP process and created reusable templates for future IP migrations and multi-region deployments.
Enabled Kasplo to achieve secure, zero-downtime IPv4 migration to AWS, preserving IP reputation and accelerating global expansion with a reusable, automated framework
