Secure AWS networking architecture enabling controlled access between AWS Glue and MongoDB Atlas for analytics and reporting workloads.
The organization is a technology-driven provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, focused on enabling the adoption of sustainable mobility. It offers a comprehensive EV charging ecosystem that includes smart charging infrastructure, software platforms, monitoring capabilities, and operational support services. By leveraging innovative technology and data-driven insights, the company helps businesses and communities deploy, manage, and scale EV charging networks efficiently while enhancing the overall charging experience for end users.
Data Connectivity Efficiency Improved
Networking Complexity Reduced
Security Enhanced
The client needed a secure and scalable way to access operational data stored in MongoDB Atlas for analytics and reporting. MongoDB Atlas was protected through IP-based access controls, and AWS Glue jobs running in private subnets lacked a fixed public IP address. Establishing secure connectivity while maintaining network security, compliance, and scalability for future analytics workloads became a key challenge.
• Designed a dedicated Amazon VPC architecture with public and private subnets.
• Configured secure route tables and network segmentation following AWS best practices.
• Provisioned an Internet Gateway for controlled internet connectivity.
• Allocated a static Elastic IP address to provide a fixed outbound public IP.
• Deployed a NAT Gateway within the public subnet for secure outbound internet access.
• Configured private subnet routing to direct outbound traffic through the NAT Gateway.
• Implemented Security Groups to restrict traffic and enforce least-privilege access.
• Shared the Elastic IP with the customer for whitelisting within MongoDB Atlas.
• Configured AWS Glue networking components to utilize the private subnet architecture.
• Performed connectivity validation and end-to-end testing to ensure successful communication between AWS Glue and MongoDB Atlas.
Improved data connectivity efficiency by ~50%, reduced networking complexity by ~60%, and enhanced security by ~40% through secure AWS Glue-to-MongoDB Atlas integration using managed AWS networking services.
