The Challenge

A solution that would be able to handle the increasing user traffic on their website, and their data to be highly available, secure, and persistent.

Solutions

  • EBS volume GP3 with 3000 IOPS and 125 MBPS was used throughout as block volumes for E-paper, Bengali Website, and Databases server to provide a reliable, performance-induced, and cost-effective solution to server volumes.
  •  EFS was used for the newspaper’s primary application (Bengali Website) as a shared storage volume for the auto-scaled application.
  •  AWS-managed encryption keys encrypt the data for Amazon EBS and Amazon EFS.
  •  Lifecycle policies were set for Amazon EFS for cost optimization.

The Results

Downtime due to Internet bandwidth and power outages was minimized as the workloads were moved to AWS.
