About the Discovery Day

AWS Discovery Day: Agentic AI Foundations traces the evolution of artificial intelligence from large language models to autonomous AI agents, exploring what changes when a model gains the ability to reason, remember, use tools, and take action.

The session introduces the key concepts behind Agentic AI and helps participants understand the different levels of autonomy in AI systems. Attendees will explore how agents differ from traditional chatbots and simple LLM-based applications, while gaining an understanding of the technologies that enable agentic systems, including tool use, memory, retrieval, planning, and orchestration.

By the end of the session, participants will have a clearer understanding of how agentic AI systems work, how they have evolved from prompting and RAG to autonomous agents, and where these systems can fit within their own architecture.
