The Security360 Site Lens module was configured to use Claude Fable 5 for security audits. However, every scan automatically switched to Claude Opus 4.8, generating warnings that appeared to indicate model availability issues. The team needed to identify the root cause while maintaining audit quality and coverage.
• Reproduced and analyzed the automatic model switch using a controlled test framework.
• Confirmed the behavior was a cybersecurity policy refusal rather than a model availability issue.
• Corrected Bedrock configuration by replacing model aliases with full inference-profile IDs.
• Standardized on Claude Opus 4.8 for security assessment workloads.
• Documented future pathways for advanced security-focused Claude deployments.
Optimized Claude model selection eliminated unnecessary fallback delays, improved configuration reliability, and maintained audit accuracy for Security360 Site Lens.
