Total Environment’s Azure Non-Production and Production VNets had overlapping CIDR ranges, preventing network peering with the Fortinet VNet and creating connectivity limitations. VMs required migration to non-overlapping networks without disrupting public-facing services or external accessibility.
• Identified all VNets, subnets, NSGs, peering connections, gateways, VMs, and dependencies across environments.
• Mapped resource dependencies between environments and with Fortinet VNet.
• Proposed new non-overlapping CIDR blocks for Production and Non-Production VNets.
• Created subnet design and validated against company IP policy and peering constraints.
• Defined NSG rules, UDRs, and routing for new networks.
• Planned peering configuration and route propagation with Fortinet VNet including gateway transit.
• Established security controls with NSG baseline, firewall configuration, and logging requirements.
• Conducted security and compliance checks with NSG rule verification and vulnerability scans.
