The client was facing cost challenges with their existing cloud setup outside AWS. To address this, they decided to re-architect their environment in a new AWS account, leveraging Graviton-powered EC2 instances and databases as the foundation. Their primary goals were to reduce data transfer costs, strengthen security, optimize networking, and align with AWS best practices.
• Provisioned Graviton-based EC2 instances with Nginx to redirect requests to Amazon API Gateway and AWS Lambda functions.
• Used Graviton-powered Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS instances for significant cost optimization and performance benefits.
• Integrated HTTP API Gateway to handle up to 5,000 requests per second, scaling to 10,000 when needed.
• Implemented scalable design to handle varying traffic levels with consistent Amazon Graviton performance.
• Deployed a single HTTP API Gateway for GET/POST requests across 26 Lambda functions.
• Used Amazon ECS with AWS Fargate for workloads requiring over 15 minutes of execution time.
• Delivered AWS CloudFormation template for automated provisioning of Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, and AWS Graviton resources.
Migrated to a custom Amazon VPC with a unified Amazon API Gateway for 26 Lambda functions, implemented Graviton-based EC2 and Amazon RDS instances, achieving 40% cost savings and 60% processing speed improvement through combined networking optimizations and AWS Graviton adoption.
